Health journalism that matters.
I aim to inform and engage the public with evidence-based reporting that shapes policy and fosters trust in science.
I explore under-reported stories on health systems, patient safety, and environmental impacts on public health that inform and empower communities.

Academic Program
Beyond journalism, I study the interdisciplinary science of advocacy. As an education scholar, I develop and test curricula to train health professionals to communicate effectively while building public trust, ensuring that scientific facts reach and resonate with diverse audiences.
The Simulated Newsroom is my signature curriculum, a 3 hour interactive workshop that teaches news judgement and advocacy skills.

Collaborations

Speaking
I offer engaging, humorous, thought-provoking keynotes on end-of-life care, the intersection of medicine and the media, burnout and anti-burnout insights, and clinical advances.

Bestseller: Death Interrupted
Will make you re-think what it means to die and how you want to live out your final days. – André Picard

Academic Partnerships
I’m based at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, where I study how clinicians and scientists can engage the public by building trust and communicating effectively.
I also run The Bridge, DLSPH’s strategic academic communications service.
